Electric Blue

Sunglasses: Pixie Market, Necklace: Madewell, Tee: Helmut Lant,
Skirt: Prabal Gurung For Target

Photography by Steve Zak
I have been dying to wear more color, so when I spotted this electric blue skirt a few months ago from Prabal Gurung For Target, I was ecstatic! I need more colorful pieces in my life to go back with my neutrals!  Paired with my go to Helmut Lang tee and it's a win for running errands especially in this crazy NYC heat! Blue is becoming my new favorite color for sure!

I have been thinking about the new ways to improve the blog and I am stoked excited to put them into action. Stay tuned.

Have a great week!

A Pin For Your Thoughts?

Hey guys!

I just joined Pinterest, I know better late than never right? My sisters have been trying to convince me to join for a while now, and last weekend I started to get more into it!

I have an OBSESSION with hardware: clothes, accessories, walls, furniture, hair, you name it! I devoted an entire board to it! I wanted to share, I am pretty sure I will add a few more pins by the time you finish reading this post lol

POW WOW NOSTALGIA FROM WET SEAL

Did you ever associate a store or an article of clothing with a time period in your life? I'll raise my hand to that!

I was a Wet Seal fanatic in high school and some of college. Wet Seal always brings me back to after school high school senior year Friday's. There was usually a routine, especially with of most of us getting out at 11am, we would head over to the Starbucks where I would work at so they can use my discount lol and I can get my check, then everyone else pick up their checks. Then at some point, we would head to 34th street, and go Manhattan Mall to shop or window shop if we were going on a weekday. Wet Seal is still in the Manhattan Mall today, I graduated 11 years ago.

Fast forward to now, I am psyched to see that Wet Seal is joining the comic fashion bandwagon with their own line of comic tees and dresses all under $50!  So brilliant as it is getting really hot this July in NYC, I will grab a tee or two! Pair with a pair of Jbrand's, an awesome heel? I'm great to go!

It's awesome to see stores embrace the consumer's inner geek!

Above were a few of my favs!

Ah, Wetseal those were the days, lol

What stores or article of clothing brings you back to a great time in your life?

Olympic Dressing

QUINN Harem Pant, Etoile by Isabel Marant Freedom Tank, Dolce Vita Sandals
Photography by Steve Zak
Right now I am very into the sporty look for summer. This is my definition of smart dressing especially when running around in the NYC heat! I have been living in these jersey harem pants from QUINN, a few years ago I was very hesitatnt to purchase a harem pant mainly because I didn't know how flattering it would be on me. The ones from QUINN are just right they drape at the right places and highlight my most important assets, pair with a nice heel and you are good to go, ha!

Red is also becoming one of my favorite colors to wear, I died when I discovered the Freedom Tank, from Isabel Marant's diffusion line: Etoile. I have worn that a few times as well, I love that it is so versatile I can wear to work and a night out with friend's!

Speaking of a night out, it's the weekend! What are everyone's plans? For me, it is going to be sleep lol and catching up with friends.

Have a great weekend!

New Skool & Old Skool: Beware the Batman vs. Batman The Animated Series

DC Nation is keeping up with the Batman revamp in releasing a new cartoon series: "Beware the Batman"The new CGI series premieres July 13 10 a.m. ET/PT as part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation programming block.

The show is mixing modern and classic; Batman's loyal butler Alfred is an ex-secret agent (I know we'll see about that one), and the superheroine Katana is retooled as swordswoman and Alfred's goddaughter. Instead of battling villains like The Joker and Catwoman, Batman faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie.

I'll be honest I was skeptical at first as I see the cartoons my nephews watch now that have CGI, they are fooled at times by the visuals ha ha. I hold my tongue in wanting to tell them: "In my day there was storytelling in cartoons!"

Beware the Batman Trailer

The visuals for the new show look great, I hope the storytelling is compelling as my beloved Batman The Animated Series. I remember I would rush home from school to watch it by 4pm lol. Here are a few of my favorite images from the show and the opening:

Batman The Animated Series Opening

Ir you want to see episodes of this beloved classic go to WB.com where you can watch full episodes and catch "Beware the Batman" July 13 10 a.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

The High Road

Photography by Steve Zak
I went bananas when I spotted this Blue Life dress a few weeks ago on Planet Blue's website. It's has the most practical cut-out back and is the perfect length. Not too long, but not too short, just right if I decide to wear flats or my favorite sandals! I decided to take the dress out for a spin on a visit to The High Line. The High Line is a 1-mile New York City linear park built on a section of the former elevated New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line, which runs along the lower west side of Manhattan. It was great to walk around, take in the breeze, and get some "me" time.

Hope everyone has a safe 4th of July weekend, next week is busy busy, we are doing a new launch for QUINN which I will talk more about in the weeks to come!

Luxe Superhero fashion

How SICK are these tees from Pierre Balmain? Pierre Balmain is the diffusion line from fashion house BalmainThere are recognizable design features of Balmain—luxe, rock 'n' roll, and understated-urbane cool. The faded graphics and boxy tee shirt body styles show a whimsical side of the Balmain brand.

These Italian imported jersey tees retail for under $200 on Shopbop & Zappos Couture! Italian imported jersey is super luxe and one of the finest jerseys in the market, I own a tee that is Italian jersey that I had for 5 years now. LOL for the rest of us, I found alternatives until there is a sample sale:
Nasty Gal $38
Thanos Shirt $24
