Give me my leather: Muubaa Fall 13

September is here, which means, time to break out the leather jackets! Dark seduction was the inspiration for Muubaa's Fall 2013 collection. The UK leather based collection is defined by sleek lines, textured finishes, and contrast detailing.  A heady dose of dark sophistication is evident in transitional day-to-night shapes, as signature Muubaa pieces are reinterpreted in deep reds, bottle green and inky blue. 

Leather is back to black, the essential gothic shade, with accents of red and green enhancing the mood of confidence and mystery.  The grunge look is much more optimistic than the past, inserting bright colors to the look for an international feel.

I own a leather jacket from Muubaa it is my YEAR round staple, I am looking forward to purchasing the leather skirt and vest from the collection to go back to my QUINN knits.

Kaleidoscope Dream

Right now, all I feel like throwing on before running out the door is a dress! This blue and white kaleidoscope printed dress was a steal a few years ago at $20! I threw it on when I was running errands and meeting a few friend's last weekend. I played it down by adding with this brown fedora and leather bag from Foley & Corinna. Still crazy to think I had that bag since 2006, it was my first designer bag I brought after I graduated college! Nevertheless, it felt nice to just stroll the park, take in the sun, and see inspiration from my fellow New Yorker's! Have to keep the creative juices going!

POW WOW NOSTALGIA FROM WET SEAL

Did you ever associate a store or an article of clothing with a time period in your life? I'll raise my hand to that! 

I was a Wet Seal fanatic in high school and some of college. Wet Seal always brings me back to after school high school senior year Friday's. There was usually a routine, especially with of most of us getting out at 11am, we would head over to the Starbucks where I would work at so they can use my discount lol and I can get my check, then everyone else pick up their checks. Then at some point, we would head to 34th street, and go Manhattan Mall to shop or window shop if we were going on a weekday. Wet Seal is still in the Manhattan Mall today, I graduated 11 years ago.

Fast forward to now, I am psyched to see that Wet Seal is joining the comic fashion bandwagon with their own line of comic tees and dresses all under $50!  So brilliant as it is getting really hot this July in NYC, I will grab a tee or two! Pair with a pair of Jbrand's, an awesome heel? I'm great to go!

It's awesome to see stores embrace the consumer's inner geek!
