Nautical Wednesday's + The Amazing Spiderman Oh My!

Hey guys!

How is everyone's week so far? I'm gearing up for the weekend, no plans yet (those are the best one's no real plans just spur of the moment?) I came across the new The Amazing Spiderman trailer that features one of my favorite gals Emma Stone. I love that she has a sense of humor, tomboyish, confident and stunning (like me!). I loved her covers for Elle and Vanity Fair this month :

I am searching for a similar bikini, love the red and white stripes so vintage!

I remember senior year of high school going to see Spiderman with a group of my friends. Aww memories, can't wait to start new one's next year with this movie!

The Amazing Spiderman Trailer

I saw the trailer on my Iphone as I was heading to work:
Foley + Corinna duffle bag, QI NY Stripe Dress, skinny belt from Urban Outfitters

What are your weekend plans, are you excited to for The Amazing Spiderman like me?

Hello, I Love You

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of posts the past week. I’ve been in the midst of prepping for two photoshoots next week and a home show in August. Working 12 hour days is exhausting but, I feel blessed to be so busy!

Besides working, I have been pampering myself. The past weekend I’ve decided to add more vibrant color to my nails: Pink!  I am thinking about trying lime green next week.

I also fooled around with my camera and pulled out my favorite pair of shoes that I got from Shoegasm about 2 years ago.

Coincidentally I had Itunes on and Hello, I Love You, by the Doors started to play. It is definitely a song that I always feel sassy and ready to take on the world, I figured it would nice to share with all of you.

Check out the on YouTube The Doors - Hello, I Love You

What song + article of clothing makes you ready to take on the world? Tell me!

Sunday Swag

What a beautiful weekend! I stayed Brooklyn bound this weekend and it was refreshing! Sometimes you need a break from the city once in a while!

Today I spent the day with my mom chatting her up about work, friends, aww heck life! I always cherish days like this since I was a little girl! She was also nice enough to loan me her umbrella that was meant for the outfit I wore today!

Denim Vest From LaRok, Strapless Dress from Target, Necklace custom made from Ginette NY.

We spent the day at our favorite brunch spot: Sotto Voce in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Sotto Voce means spoken softly. My family and I have had brunch at Sotto Voce for YEARS! Comfortable atmosphere, exposed brick, huge windows.

Best part, drum roll please:  their brunch menu $15.95 + unlimited Mimosa or Bloody Mary’s. The salmon platter was AMAZING!

My favorite dish: Fusilli al Salmone fresh tomato sauce with a touch of cream and smoked salmon.

After we walked to the Park Slope Flea Market at P.S. 121, between 1st & 2nd Streets on 7th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NYC. A few highlights: vintage hats and antique furniture (mom's favorite).

Nice way to end the weekend, and refresh for the amazing week ahead! What did you guys do this weekend?

Tokidoki Storm T-shirt Oh My!

Hey guys!

Had to share my experience last week that kicked off my fourth of July:

Jim Hanley's Universe: Comicbook Central. This place felt like an amusement park! I went with my niece Akua (check out her blog http://thestyleqween.com) and one of my dear friend's Aiesha.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a HUGE fan of Storm from X-Men, and it is rare to find any memorabilia of her, he he I nearly foamed at the mouth seeing this.

Tokidoki Storm T-Shirt $28

One word: SICK! How refreshing to see a comic book shop that has actual woman's clothes! Proves the point that gals are comic book fans too! So many ways to style this t-shirt: underneath a maxi dress or dress it up with a long maxi skirt and a blazer, leather leggings, or keep it casual with skinny pants and pumas!

I also purchased
X-Men: Giant-Size Vol 1 it's so freaking good! X-Men Giant Size has massive ramifications for two – count ‘em, two – generations of X-Men: I will definitely be paying another visit to Jim Hanley's Universe! I spotted a Wolverine Shirt yesterday that will be my next purchase!

Kosi's playlist to beat the afternoon slump

It’s 4pm where did your energy go? Did it leave 10 minutes after the slice of pizza or when a conference call becomes a scene from the movie 300? Having the typical afternoon slump is the pits and it stings a little harder during the summer.....especially after the fabulous 4th of July weekend.

I was feeling that slump today, so I made an awesome playlist that I wanted to share with all of you.

1) Number One-Chaz Jankel

My Coworker got me hooked on this song. I know the name sounds not recognizable. So I added the clip where all of you would recognize the song, Real Genius anyone? The words are motivating as well when we are not feeling #1 at the moment :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wibqG9OCNj0

2) Rock With You-Michael Jackson

Nuff said, this a universal song that brings anyone to a good mood. I always dance at my desk .

3) Break the Chain-Lupe Fiasco

Lupe's new album is always on repeat for me, the beat makes me think about the next weekend plans!

4) We will Rock You-Queen

A universal song that can get anyone hyped: A doctor before he performs a risky surgery, the high school football game, NBA playoffs, and for me finishing deadlines!

What about you guys? What do you do to get out of the afternoon slump? Anyone seeing Horrible Bosses this weekend?

Website Obsession: Nasty Gal

Hi everyone! Hope the July 4th weekend was fabulous to you all! I enjoyed it with my amazing friend’s and family! I felt like a true New Yorker watching the fireworks in meatpacking! Special thanks to the random parking lot security guard that let over 100 people enter the lot near the pier. We got the best view of the fireworks as you can see!

I must say my Tuesday back to work outfit was
perfect for the sticky Manhattan weather! I owe it all to my new website obsession, Nasty Gal Vintage

What I love about this site that it is AFFORDABLE, especially for a girl like me who doesn’t spend a fortune on spring/summer clothes (I tend to do that during the fall/winter months). The Jane Maxi dress that I am wearing is $58!

The site also offers vintage pieces I have been eyeing these since last Monday

Fringed Batwing Cardi

Perfect for the fall with a huge chunky ankle boot

Jungle Kat Skirt

I love my maxi skirts, to me they are so sexy but elegant at the same time.

Happy Summer!
