The last stand

Hey guys!

Summer is about to be over! I'm not really sad about it, I remember as a kid dreading going back to school, no more sleeping in late, etc. I guess at age 28, I start to consider fall my ally. Well my style ally!

The weekends I am usually Brooklyn bound but I had to run a few errands in the city, one of my favorite staples this summer has been this Helmut Lang skirt. I'm a sucka for skirts with slits.

As you can see I was really working hard to get all my errands done lol I went for a Frank Miller vibe, black & white then color. Enjoy!

Forever 21 Tee
Zara boots
The slit on this skirt is high but ironically the pins went with the look I was going for lol!

Labor weekend next, hoping to head to the beach. But I can say with great joy, I am amped for September to start already!

MILK Studios and Ford Motor Unveil "Wall To Wall: The Fusion Collective"

Hey guys!

When I look at a car, I don't instinctively see it as art, but rather as a functional vehicle to take you someplace. So it explains why Ford would partner with MILK Studios to create "Wall to Wall: The Fusion Collective," an innovative multimedia experience. It brings together six artists: musician Pharrell Williams, Nathaniel Brown, WIFE, Matthew Williams who was the previous creative director for Lady Gaga, Cyril Duval, fashion/conceptual art designer, and Brian DeGraw. All have created original artwork and opened up their studios to the public, documenting their creative processes through editorial and video content on www.fusionists.co.

I had the honor of attending this exhibit Tuesday night with my dear friend/fellow blogger Candy Washington. We had a ball, I don't many art exhibits where the DJ's were on point and I dance the night away :)

Ford unveiled the "Wall to Wall: The Fusion Collective" exhibition, at an amazing event that showcased amazing  talent, and prepares for the release of the newly redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion next month. The event included celebrity appearances by Shawn White and Adrian Grenier (of Entourage fame, and now partnering with Ford through his eco-friendly company SHFT). We spotted Adrian a few times, he really blended in with the crowd.

I had the opportunity to be in the drivers seat, lol Once I put the googles on, I felt as if I was living in the world Grand Theft Auto.

lol beauty meets technology

This has to be the coolest hotdog stand/DJ booth I have seen!
DJ Venus X
and #Been #Trill spun throughout the night, best mixes I have heard in a long time!

It was a great night, I love NYC during the summer and fall! I caught a dance off that I thought was the cutest thing!

What a Wonderful World

Hello Hello!

Apologies for the lack of posts work has been busy! Week of few hours of sleep, excitement, putting out fire drills, and learning about myself. Today  at work we had a photoshoot featuring Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty! It was one of the best shoots I did, so much positive energy from the entire crew! I'm feeling more comfortable sharing the stylist/pr role as well.

Here are a few snippets, to view more, join the Ainsley NY twitter page and facebook page here:

A long shoot, but a great one! While I was waiting for the bus home, the most perfect song came on my Ipod. It described my mood to a tee:

Since junior/senior of high school, I wanted to work in the fashion industry. Throughout the years there have been great achievements, experiences, and times I wanted to give up. Now working in this business for 7 years, I am glad I didn't! I'm very grateful for my family and friend's for their never ending support!

I'll stop being mushy lol, I just thought I share! I have a lot to be grateful for these days: health, family, and my circle of true friends. I think it's time more people in their 20's express it.

I hope everyone is having a great week! Looking forward to the weekend, family day on Sunday :)

I want to fly away

Hi guys!

Getting a special outfit together for Saturday morning. I'm actually going to have the chance to finish one activity I wanted to do on my summer bucket list! I don't think I need to say EXACTLY what that activity is, the pics are self explanatory lol.

I am so hyped and it's only Thursday night! I'm sure the anticipation will increase in the next 24 hours. The feeling is similar to when you see your crush for the first time in weeks.. yes that!

Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz is an awesome song to describe what I am feeling at the moment :) It's one of my favorite songs ever, I remember having this song on repeat on my way home from school.

The lyics describe my mood to a tee!

Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

I will be celebrating after, it will be a Saturday so a mimosa will be in order!

Late Night Creativity

Hey guys!

How is the week treating ya? I just got back from vacation, work it pretty busy but a lot of amazing things happening! I'm am truly grateful to be part of what is coming up.

Also back to work means lack of sleep again lol ESP these next few weeks launching new seasons. I find myself more creative during these busy times and tonight was no exception.

I got the urge to do a new moodboard at 11:45pm. Yes, I have an early day tomorrow but I had to it, I had to! Lol!

Shows a mix of the fall trends I like, empowering words and comics! What more can a gal ask for? Below are the different angles.

Vena Cava Fall 2012 Collection

I couldn't have been happier to here that the NYC/Brooklyn based brand Vena Cava was not going out of business as originally thought. In November 2011, Vena Cava was reportedly in serious financial trouble and it looked like founders Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai would have to shut down the 8-year-old company.

This April, the duo confirmed a deal with Li & Fung subsidiary LF USA that would keep Vena Cava afloat.  Under LF they launched their new Fall 2012 collection it looks great! I'm really digging the use of cobalt blue; and the mixing of fur, floral and polka dot prints.  A few of my favs!

I am a sucker for comebacks, I see the brand having a great comeback with the start of this collection!
