Boo Cool?

Hey guys

Hope everyone is having a happy and safe halloween. In NYC we were hit with winter weather, "Snowtober" as a few blogs were calling it. It didn't stop She Hulk from making her presence lol:

I got the dress at Comic Con a few weeks ago

So excited!!!

Look at She Hulk go lol

Only two more months and 2011 is history, started my to do list of things I wanted to do before the end of the year: volunteer at a soup kitchen, finally go on that flying trapeze class, the list goes on and on.

How did everyone else spend their Halloween?

Once Upon A Time Season Premiere Review

Witches, A princess in distress, and creatures spinning gold no I wasn't reading my preschool books. I was watching ABC's premiere of Once Upon A Time, the show is based on the old fairy tales with a twist which catapults Snow White (played by Big Love's Ginnifer Goodwin), Rumpelstiltskin and an array of princes, dwarves and evil queens from 19th-century fairy tale land to a small Maine town called Storybrooke.

The Evil Queen’s curse that ends all happy endings, which entails of stripping all fairy tale characters of their identity and memories, and bringing them into our world where they remain ageless but stuck living completely shitty lives.  But before the curse is able to take effect, Snow White gives birth to a daughter named Emma, who is destined to break the curse once she reaches the age of 28.  Baby Emma is transported and raised in foster care and grows up into a jaded bail bondsman with a sick red leather jacket. A boy named Henry appears on Emma’s 28th birthday, revealing himself to be the son she had given up for adoption and that she needs go with him to his hometown of Storybrooke, Maine. Emma does so, only to return Henry to the woman who raised him, who happens to be the mayor of the small New England town, who also happens to be The Evil Queen herself.

I always find it funny that the Evil Queen in every Snow White film/series has amazing skin? Just a thought.

Back to the review, I liked how the show goes from the present real world to the fairy tale world of long ago {The show was developed by the creators of Lost, go figure}

Snow White's character pleasantly surprised me. The preview's made her seem like the typical "save me princess"

But when we see her next, she immediately points a sword at the evil Queen while trying to protect Prince Charming (as they are getting married!).

It's nice to see the writers not making Snow White a clueless princess waiting to be rescued. Her greatest quality and curse is that she is so giving but she is aware of the drama around her.

I heard Kristin Bauer (Pam from True Blood) will be playing Maleficent (The witch from Sleeping Beauty) in next week's episode. I wonder what she is going to look like?

I think Once Upon A Time has a lot potential. I just hope the creators of Lost don't drag it out.  Did anyone else see the show? What were your thoughts?

NY Comic Con 2011

Hey guys!

I went to NYC Comic Con Saturday 10/15, it was my first time going and it was AMAZING. I am definitely going all four days next year, there is so much to cover. I purchased a few T-Shirts, Comic Books, and Jewelry from Her Universe a new Star Wars women's apparel/accessories line.

A women's collection dedicated to Star Wars and Sci-fi! I found my new Go-To for Tees! I got a few pieces of their jewelry that I will feature in an upcoming post.

The energy at the Javits Center was refreshing, I usually go to the Javits Center for fashion trade shows, etc. It was nice going for something more lighthearted.

He was playing Yoda's theme from the Empire Strikes Back

Me getting my cowboy on

I brought the She Hulk dress lol wearing it to work on Halloween

Get Thee To An Infirmary

Hey guys!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, I have been sick :( It is pretty serious when your boss sends you home in fears of infecting her and your coworkers. The weather in NYC has been hot one day and cold the next!

So I am resting so I can be in full blogger/pr mode by the end of the week. Me being sick reminds me of one of my favorite episodes from the Cosby Show, it was when Rudy got sick:

I have to get better for so many reasons:

1) I need to put my NYC Comic Con post pronto
2) Halloween! Duh!
3) Have to catch up with my dearest friends
4) Get back to my secret project (don't worry you guys will know soon! It's going to be fabulous)
5) Once Upon A Time premieres on Sunday
6) Finish the rest of my fall 2011 shopping

Be back soon!

P.S. I Love Me

Hey guys!

How was the weekend for everybody? My weekend was great just relaxed, saw Ides of March (great movie!) and caught up with an old friend.

I went to the Hells Kitchen Flea Market and got the most amazing deal on this coat:

A perfect weekend with friend's and random summer weather! I love it as I get older the simple things in life make me smile. I love where I am in my life right now and looking forward to October 2011 and beyond.

I found this poem online, I wish there was an author behind it. But it pretty much sums up how I am feeling.

Love Yourself
Live in colours, love yourself
Rest on love look at shelf
Bees are humming, spiders spin
Shut your eyes, live in green

Ignore words what others say
All will leave you none to stay
Life is yours make it happy
Raise your head never feel shaky.

I ain't afraid of no ghosts!

If there's something strange
in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call?

We all know that song! I am happy to hear that Sony Pictures will re-release Ghostbusters in nearly 500 theaters in the US starting October 13, 2011, and on the next two Thursdays before Halloween.

Awesomeness on so many levels:

1) It is one of my top 10 favorite movies

2) I was considering dressing up as a ghostbuster for Halloween

3) This scene lol classic. "The Flowers Are Still Standing!"

4) The fierceness of Dana Barrett and that red dress!  "Are you the Key Master?"

Would you guys agree?

Steve Jobs, 1955 - 2011

On Wednesday night, I was in the process of checking my Facebook on my iPhone when I learned of the death of Steve Jobs.  My iPhone! A device that I can not live without.  The device that Jobs created.

Does the death of Steve Jobs put an end to Apple's dominance in creativity, and innovation in the cell phone computer world?   Jobs made technology not about science and math, but about how we live our daily lives: how we listen to music, how we communicate, how we view product. He made gadgets stylish to hold and essential to own.

Mac or Pc?  it's the perennial debate for anyone who wants to buy a new computer ( or win an argument). Passionate and valid. I was raised a Mac girl, thankfully by my Dad. There was always an apple computer in our home.

In 2005, Jobs revealed some of his thoughts on death in a heartfelt commencement address at Stanford University.  He told the graduating class:

‎"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Thank you Steve Jobs for creating technology that improves our lives.  Thank you for encouraging  us  never to take short cuts.
