Bits & Bytes: Robot Art

I recently purchased an awesome piece of art for my office wall that is very fitting for my love of comic books/sci-fi.

The work is called Famous Robots by Daniel Nyari:

All my favorite robots, lol check out Bender from Futurama!
From top left across and down: T-800, Astro Boy, Vision, Bender, Brainiac, C3PO, Clank, Cyberman, Cylon,    Awesome-O, Gort, Rosie, Alpha, Voltron, EVE, Maschinenmensch, Optimus Prime, Wall-E, Wheatley, Marvin the Paranoid Android, Miles Monroe, HAL 9000, Iron Giant, Robby the Robot, Pneuman, R2D2, Sentinel, Asimo, H8,  Mega Man
The art print comes in a variety of sizes, I went with the mini size for my office wall:

The Famous Robots artwork also comes in a tote, two hoodies, and a tee.

I am planning on getting the zip hoodie, I am in need of a new one :)

The artwork I purchased is great for the home as well, have you recently purchased any interesting wall art? For more information please go to Society6/Daniel Nyari.

Inside Story

Market appointments, photoshoots, and last minute press pulls, leaves this PR ninja excited to change into something comfortable when she gets home. What's the routine when I get home you might ask? I take off whatever makeup I have on, and throw on the best Ebay purchase I got in a long time: Victoria's Secret Pink NY Giants Sweatpants paired with my beloved James Perse tee. Every woman should own this tee, it is beyond versatile!

A glass a wine, a good comic book is a great way to end the day!
What do you wear to unwind at home?

Peace out!

Give and Take

You know when there are times when you need to take a step back? Well that was me the past few days. I know I've been missing in action the past few days on the blog, but I needed some time to myself.

I got a pleasant surprise from my sister tonight, she knitted me a new hat which I plan to wear tomorrow to start the week off on a fabulous note. It was very random and sweet of her.

She explained that was inspired by by nephew's school where they are encouraging random acts of kindness. I plan to pass it on as well.
Thank you Tika!

I'm glad I got some much needed "me" time. Check out for 2 new posts this coming week for sure. Wishing everyone a great week!

Girl Friday

I have been fortunate enough to take a few Friday's off for the past few weeks! I have been spending my time off catching up on my writing, friend's and exploring NYC.

I went with a simple black on black outfit leather jacket by Muubaa, skirt by Express and the tee by The Cast. Very tomboy, but still feminine due to it's slim fit.

I had to throw on my Zara tiger heels to complete this look. I'm quite obsessed with the print at the moment! So darn cute I must say!

I actually shot this in Union Square 2 weeks before Hurricane Sandy hit NYC and NJ. My heart goes out to all those affected. Please donate: toiletries, money, clothes to the American Red Cross. The minimum donation is $10. I donated bags of clothes to the Salvation Army last weekend near my house. Caboodles Brings Back 'Vintage 1987' Case

I remember growing up having a collection of Caboodles make up cases, my mom would actually get one for me and one for my niece Akua. I wasn't allowed to put on make up so I would put jewelry and lip gloss in the cases, they were mainly for decoration for my room.

I had the privildege to meet with the Caboodles team who had a kiosk at Mercedes Benz Fashion week at Lincoln center this past September. It was the perfect place for them to celebrate their 25th birthday with the re-release of their 1987 case:

I also had a chance to view their lookbook, a few of my favs are below! I have been addicted to the photo app Polamatic lately. I thought it was fitting for the cases:

Nostalgia at it's finest! I plan on purchasing the En Vogue train case in the next few days. You can find the rest of the collection on the facebook page for Caboodles here.

Here's to 25 more years Caboodles!

Do you want to Cosplay with me?

Hey guys!

It's been a while! My apologies! Still recovering from NY Comic Con, I had the opportunity to go last Saturday and Sunday.

I decided this year to step up and get involved in Cosplay. What is Cosplay you might ask? It is both a noun and a verb. Cosplay is short for: Costume Play. Dressing up and pretending to be a fictional character (usually a sci-fi, comic book, or anime character). However, it can be a storybook character, Disney character, TV character. Cosplays are a well-crafted, well-fitting costumes that look like the original reference. Such cosplays require hours of hard work, and considerable talent. It is a hobby that I am adapting and another great way to express myself.

Saturday, I cosplayed as Dark Phoenix from the X-Men Series. I was so happy to have two talented designers work on this project! Courtney at Messqueen made the bodysuit and my friend Yalenis at Synderela added the gold accents:

My neice Akua, Our friend Kimanie as Nick Fury from the Avengers, and me!
Storm, Rogue, Dark Phoenix
Kimanie had the best costume on Saturday, so many people wanted to take his picture lol
I guess he's used to it since he is a model!
Sunday, I cosplayed as Catwoman from The Dark Knight Rises, it was insane! I had my costume made on the boutique MJCreation on Etsy, thanks again Julie!
Yes very identical, love it!

Catching up with Bane
My fellow batman villains they had the best outfits on Sunday
I'm definitely going to wear both costumes again for other comic cons in Chicago and Boston. The Catwoman costume I am wearing on Halloween! What is everyone dressing up well cosplaying as for Halloween?
