Chanel does it again!

How great does actress Tilda Swinton look in Chanel's new ad campaign? A lot of nerds like me remember Tilda from the movie The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. She is embracing her Scottish Heritage for Chanel Paris-Edimbourg Campaign by Karl Lagerfeld! I am digging the mixing of plaids and embellishments in the outerwear pieces. So regal!

City Hippie

I feel like a complete hippie in this little vintage dress, is that weird? Especially since I have the garment district as the background? lol City Hippie guess that was my look, an dress paired with motorcycle boots! I picked up this baby at Loveday31 and fell even deeper in love with it this past Friday.   The print inspired me to crank up Jimi Hendrix on pandora for the day and the fringe sleeves remind me of something from a Stevie Nicks video. Mixing old and new is too much fun and I just can't get enough of it!

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

With reality TV shows not showing a sign of slowing down soon, it was refreshing to hear that a real COMIC book series will premiere this fall (sorry not a fan of Arrow on the CW). I'm talking about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is a spin off from the Avengers movie, I was happy to see that Agent Coulson lives as one can see from the trailer:

I am really stoked for this! I don't have to keep watching carton repeats as much anymore lol!

Late Night Craving

 

I should be sleeping right now, since I have finished putting these curlers in my hair but I'm not. There are never enough hours in the day to check out the new stuff online! I went bananas when I spotted this Rachel Pally dress on Shopbop. It's has a cut-out back and the most perfect length.   Simple, understated, and of course, a little sexy. Everyone knows I love my maxi dresses!  I want to get this dress as a birthday gift to myself (it's in two weeks!).

I am still trying to narrow down the color I think it's between the black and the stripe. Thoughts on what color I should get?

My inner superhero

Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves? Maybe I shouldn't say 'we' but I know I am. I am always told that I am doing great job with work/the blog and usually I am never satisfied.  I push myself hard to reach my goals, it's a good/bad habit to have to live with. Doing that at times is very tiring as I get older so I am striving to do that less. 

I needed to find my inner superhero and I'm doing it everyday:

A few pointers I am learning:

• Be yourself
• Time time for yourself
• Be nice to people
• Believe in yourself
• Look back for positive reasons (I know easier said than done!)
• Take a step back and be grateful for what you have and the people in your life
• Volunteer and give back to those less fortunate
• Smile
• Drink Starbucks lol I'm kidding but you are more awesome if you drink Starbucks

Tomboy Sexy

Helmut Lang has once again wowed me with their spring collection they just get  how a non-girly girly does sexy. I'm currently in love the new Gala Knit dress from the collection! The wide-sleeve jersey deep v-neck top and a fitted body defines the perfect dress for me. This dress shows the right amount of skin. It's so freakin sexy! This dress reminds me so much of Joan Smalls and Chanel Iman (The queens of cool in my eyes), it makes my head spin! It's a total POWER dress you can wear to the office or a night out! At the moment, I am loving it during the day with a sleek black pump and a fishnet tight for cool spring days! 

I feel lucky to have another piece of Helmut Lang goodness in my closet! Thank You Ebay! :)

Happy Birthday Akua!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I wanted to wish my niece Akua (check out her blog A Stylish Jedi) a happy 25th birthday lol Yes she's 25 today!

Nautical Getaway

How amaze is this editorial from Vogue Paris May 13! It inspires me to go on some crazy voyage in the middle of nowhere with nothing but grungy layers in navy and whites . A lightweight beanie and a canvas wedge makes this look complete for me! 

What a great editorial!  I like the fact that the styling and photography makes each look it's very wearable where a lot of editorials nowadays don't look that way at all!

Looking at this tonight has got me thinking: I need a vacation! I text my friend earlier about doing a quick getaway. Of course she says I should plan it lol. I'll add it on the to do list next week. Thanks Essence, I always enjoy our text convos!

I hope everyone's week is going great so far. Doing a shoot for work on the resort season, then marketing the next project. Hopefully the Knicks win Friday, that last game was a shocker.. boo hoo lol
