Oscar winner Ben Affleck is set to play Batman in the Superman sequel pitting the two superheroes against one another. It will be the first time Batman and Superman have been in a film together. I'm mystified by this news for so many reasons:
I didn't know Man of Steel was that great that there had to be a sequel?
I still remember Affleck playing Daredevil.. still recovering.....
I loved Christian Bale as Batman! LOL I think most of the world did, last time I checked The Dark Knight Rises is just a year old?
Finally, do we all remember George Clooney as Batman? Yea and he won an Oscar too....
I guess we will have to wait till July 17th, 2015 to see how this turns out. I am a comic book head so I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to go see it lol.

A couple of things in justification of Ben Affleck as Daredevil:
ReplyDelete1) Scripts matter. Had it been Bale playing Batman in Batman Forever, we would have thought of him as a joke. An actor can only work with the material they have.
2) Daredevil was produced by Fox, a company with a terrible record in Superhero movies (Fantastic Four and the third Spiderman movie where Peter Parker dances jump to mind). Marvel Studios has bought the title back from Fox, so there's hope for the character yet.
3) Argo.
4) Man of Steel did well. Well enough to justify the Justice League. This is the first step.

Okay, I was really pissed about this haha Ben Affleck is cool and all, but for Batman?? Just no. Like why did they choose him?? He's already been in a superhero movie and it was awful! Ugh, I just feel like there were sooo many better actors they could have gone with. I'm already predicting bad reviews for this movie haha.
