There hasn't been a movie in a long time that has grabbed me with the following:
Music/Color story: The color story was mostly in shades of blue and gold. The streetlights to the motel fit into this color scheme. The songs selected fit the same thematic feel of the movie. They sound like they are 70's disco hits but are all modern songs with a vivid techno pulse.
This is one of my favorite tracks from the film "A Real Hero by College feat. Electric Youth"
Acting: Drive has the best ensemble cast, I've seen in a long time. You wouldn't think to put all these actors: Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, and Ron Perlman (He was Hellboy if you remember) in a room together lol but the ingredients work.
“Have you ever heard of the story of the scorpion and the frog?” the Driver (Ryan Gosling) asks producer/mobster Bernie Rose (Albert Brooks) towards the end of the movie. In that one line, when you put it in context, you get everything you need to know about the character and the movie. The driver wears a jacket with a scorpion on it.
|I want this jacket now!|
Go see the movie Drive if you haven't already, it will not disappoint.
